Advanced Wireless Communication and its Implications




Baba Banda Singh Bahadur Engineering College, Fatehgarh Sahib in association with the
Institute of Engineers (India), Punjab and Chandigarh Centre, organised a 5-day workshop
on- “Advanced wireless communication and its implications” which started today in the
college campus
The inaugural event started today with the felicitation of the Guest of honour Dr. Sam Darshi
(Professor, IIT Ropar). Dr. TS Kamal, Chairman IE(I) was the chief guest for the event and
dignitaries like Er. S.S. Mundi (Secretary, IEI), Dr. Anil Kuma(Prof. Thapar University),
Dr. R.S. Uppal HOD(ECE) convenor of the workshop and Dr. Supreet Singh were present.
The welcome address was given by Major General (Dr.) GS. Lamba, VSM and he briefed
about the host department and the flow of the program was conveyed by Dr. R.S. Uppal
(HOD, ECE department.) He thanked Institute of Engineers (India) on giving the college an
opportunity to organise such a function.
The inauguration was concluded with the vote of thanks by Er. S.S. Mundi. He talked on the
need for such platforms to discuss the future scopes in wireless communication and applauded
the efforts of ECE department. Group photographs and Tree plantation marked the future
cooperation of the members. The address was followed by high tea.
Dr. Sam Darshi (IIT. Ropar) who was addressing the audience in the morning, discussed
the new technology in connection with human life, Plagiarism Software and social
networking safety. He explained the entire communication network in brief, the interferences
and signal exchange in mobile communication. He also discussed the advanced
technologies like Full duplex scenario, node full duplex scenario and shared various ideas and
tips for research and thesis.
The afternoon session was conducted by Dr. Anil Kumar from Thapar University. He talked
about the Future Wireless Technologies in which he apprised the audience about upcoming
wireless techniques and its impact on the communication.
