Seminar on GATE

A seminar on #GATE for #Civil #Engineering final year and pre-final year #students has been conducted today i.e. September 13, 2018 in R9. The session was delivered by Dr. Vikas Kataria, M/Tech #IIT #Delhi, he addressed the students on Basic #Mechanics & some numerical problems on #truss, method of section 8 to solve truss problems, moreover enlighten the students about jobs in various #PSUs, Centre & #State #Government departments and about Engineering Services #Examination. Students took active participation in the session and made it more interactive session. We would also like to appreciate the civil engineering department for their support and coordination, which left us motivated to take further initiatives.

Most Aware Singh and Kaur 2018

Guru Gobind Singh Study Circle Unit of BBBSEC organized "Most Aware Singh and Kaur of the College -2018".
Dr Inderpal Singh, Director,  Bhai Kahn Singh Institute of Studies and Management was the chief guest. Mr. Satdeep Singh, #director and #producer of the short tele- #films and #alumni of the college was the guest of honor and he motivated the students to define the goals in their life and work hard to achieve those. Dr. Supreet Singh, AP, Department of #Electronics and #Communication #Engineering coordinated the event. 

Industrial Visit at Swaraj Tractors

The #Mechanical #Engineering #Department of #BBSBEC has organized #industrial visit for Final year students of Mechanical Engineering to Swaraj Tractors Ltd, SAS Nagar on 27th September 2018. The company was established in 1965 as #Punjab #Tractors Limited (PTL) and has been promoted by well-known #Mahindra & Mahindra family. The company manufactures tractors from 15 HP to a 60 HP category, which cater to the #farmers need for various #agricultural operations. The students enhanced their #technical knowledge and related their #theoretical concepts by observing the working of the state of art tractor #manufacturing #plant.

Birth Anniversary of Bhagat Singh

To mark the #Birth #Anniversary of Bhagat Singh, the Great #Freedom #Fighter of #Punjab who never thought twice before laying down his life for freedom of our #Motherland, the students of #BBSBEC, Fatehgarh Sahib organised a function. The function was presided by the Principal, Major General Dr. GS Lamba,  Dean of Student Affair APS Sethi Sir, Dean JS Oberoi Sir,  in the presence of the whole faculty and the students of the college. The Principal spoke about Bhagat Singh's sacrifice and contribution in attaining India's Freedom.  He congratulated the students and encouraged them to follow his #ideology.  He motivated them to follow his #energy and #will #power and make him their role model. Jashanpreet Singh, a 5th semester student presented a Rap Song against #Drug #Abuse.

#PMKVY courses have been started successfully in #ECE department, #BBSBEC under the "Teach India Programme", for making the youth technologically capable.

Interactive Session regarding Armed Forces Preparations

Baba Banda Singh Bahadur Engineering College, Fatehgarh Sahib takes due care of the students aspiring to join #Indian #Armed #Forces. Students have always been encouraged and educated about the various existing entry schemes into the #defence #services. #Training & #Placement department organized an exclusive session for pre-final and final year students of all B.Tech branches on 13th September 2018, wherein college principal Maj Gen (Retd.) Dr G. S. Lamba (VSM) interacted with more than 100 students and enlightened them about the University Entry Schemes of Indian #Army, Indian #Navy & Indian Air Force. The exhaustive session was very informative for the students where they got to know about the history of UES, eligibility criteria for UES, various officers like qualities required for cracking the SSB, Selection procedure which includes personal Interview rounds by the selection board at respective college/University, and various processes undertaken at SSB for clearing the exam. Students felt overwhelmed by the in-depth knowledge they acquired through this session and were enthusiastically registered for further information and preparatory workshops in future for the same.
