A 3-days “Entrepreneurship Awareness Camp” was inaugurated on 23 August 2018 at the department of CSE at Baba Banda Singh Bahadur Engineering College, Fatehgarh Sahib in collaboration with Science and Technology Entrepreneurs Park (STEP-GNDEC), Ludhiana for boosting the spirit of entrepreneurship among the final year students of the college. STEP-GNDEC is a unique and dynamic entity promoted jointly by Guru Nanak Dev Engineering College and Department of Science and Technology, Government of India and is one of the first 6 –STEP’s established in the country and became operational in the year 1987. It facilitates students by providing space, environment, and infrastructure for creative thinking, innovation, product and venture development. It also provides live linkages between educational institutions of academic excellence and industries. Dr. Arvind Dhingra (Director, STEP) inaugurated the workshop. A total of 100 final year students of various branches registered for this workshop and had taken benefits from the workshop. Prof. (Dr.) Kanwalvir Singh Dhindsa, Professor (CSE) asserted that the main agenda of the workshop is to give an insight on various aspects related to the entrepreneurship. Prof. Gurleen Kaur Dhaliwal shared her views about the programme and welcomed the chief guest and the key speakers. She also urged all the participants to derive maximum benefit from the camp. Dr. Parampal Singh (Professor of Guru Nanak Dev Engineering College, Ludhiana) and Er. Vikrant Aggarwal (Professor LCET Katani Kalan Ludhiana) were the key speakers for the first two sessions. They highlighted the need for entrepreneurship and the related aspects. Dr. Amanpreet Singh, Assistant Professor (ME) and Prof. Balraj Singh, Assistant Professor (ME), Prof. Manpreet Kaur, Assistant Professor (CSE) and Prof. Gurbahar Singh, Assistant Professor (CSE) were also present on the occasion. Participating students will be taken for an industrial visit to Ludhiana on 27 August 2018.
